My Approach

My approach offers a unique and compassionate blend of evidence-based and holistic modalities that are also trauma-informed and rooted in nervous system and somatic awareness.

What does this mean?

  • we gently explore beneath the surface where the roots of protective patterns have taken hold

Therapy with me is about gently unwinding these protective patterns, reconnecting to your body’s wisdom, and restoring a felt sense of safety—so that healing becomes possible.

Where compassionate counselling, nervous system healing, and somatic awareness come together.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or “Tapping”)
A mind-body approach that gently restores balance.

EFT is the primary modality I use as a certified Emotional Freedom Techniques Practitioner. It’s more than a therapeutic tool—it’s a practice that supported my own healing journey and continues to be part of my daily life.

EFT combines acupoint tapping (using the fingertips) with elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy. It also draws on principles from inner child, shadow, and parts work in a body-based, non-traditional way. This is what led me to study Compassionate Inquiry—an approach that deeply resonates with the compassionate, attuned nature of EFT.

While I’m not a certified Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner, I integrate what I’ve learned in ways that complement EFT beautifully. Together, these modalities create a powerful and integrative synergy—supporting both emotional insight and embodied nervous system healing.

What makes EFT unique?

  • It’s trauma-informed and evidence-based—originally used with veterans for PTSD and now widely effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and more.

  • It focuses on the body, not just the mind—working gently with the nervous system alarm that often drives emotional distress.

  • It includes tools like the 9-Gamut Procedure, which uses bilateral stimulation (similar to EMDR) to support deeper emotional processing.

  • It helps you build emotional capacity—offering felt support as you learn to stay with what’s hard without being overwhelmed or needing to disconnect.

True healing begins when the body feels safe. That’s why I support you in calming the body’s internal alarm system. We work gently to interrupt fight, flight, and freeze patterns and begin restoring balance.

This includes helping you recognize your nervous system cues, so you can respond with more awareness and choice—not just reactivity. When your body no longer feels like a battleground, you can begin to reconnect with who you are beneath the anxiety or overwhelm.

You can’t think your way into healing—but you can feel your way there.

Insight is helpful, but it’s not enough.

Through gentle somatic tools and grounding practices, I help you begin to listen inward—to notice the subtle signals of your body and emotions, to stay present rather than disconnect, and to feel safe in your own skin. With time, you build the capacity to sit with your emotions without being overtaken by them, opening the door to deeper healing and inner trust.
