My Approach

My approach offers a unique and compassionate blend of evidence-based and holistic modalities that are also trauma-informed and rooted in nervous system and somatic awareness.

What does this mean?

  • safety comes first,

  • we invite compassion into the process

  • we go beyond just mindset to include the body and the emotions

  • we gently explore beneath the surface where the roots of protective patterns have taken hold

Therapy with me is about gently unwinding these protective patterns, reconnecting to your body’s wisdom, and restoring a felt sense of safety—so that healing becomes possible.

Below is a little more information on the main modalities I use: Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Compassionate Inquiry. Both of these offer compassion counselling, nervous sytem healing, somatic awareness, and other supportive modalities such as mindfulness, Inner Child work, Parts work on their own. Together, they create a powerful and integrative synergy, weaving a rich foundation for healing that supports both insight and embodiment.

Compassionate Inquiry

Listening with care, exploring with gentleness.

Developed by Dr. Gabor Maté, Compassionate Inquiry is a trauma-informed psychotherapeutic approach rooted in presence, curiosity, and compassion. It helps uncover the unconscious beliefs and emotional wounds that drive current struggles.

This process isn’t about fixing you—it’s about compassionately understanding how your patterns formed, so that you can begin to soften self-protection and grow self-trust. Over time, clients often begin to relate to themselves with more kindness, clarity, and acceptance.

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or “Tapping”)

A mind-body approach that gently restores balance.

EFT combines therapy with tapping on specific acupuncture points to support both emotional release and nervous system regulation. This dual approach makes EFT especially effective for anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and other emotional struggles.

What makes EFT unique?

  • It’s trauma-informed, with a strong research base—originally used with veterans for PTSD, and now shown to be effective for a wide range of concerns.

  • It integrates insights from CBT, exposure therapy, inner child and parts work in a non-traditional, body-based way (as does Compassionate Inquiry)

  • It prioritizes the body’s response, not just mindset—working gently with the nervous system alarm that underlies many symptoms.

  • It includes tools like the 9-gamut procedure, which uses bilateral stimulation (similar to EMDR) to support deeper processing.

  • It is a beautiful tool to help you build emotional capacity, offering felt support as you learn to stay with and move through what’s hard, without being swept away or needing to run away.

A Compassionate, Holistic, Trauma-Informed Space

This work isn’t about rushing or fixing—it’s about honouring your story, your body, your emotions, your nervous system, and your inner wisdom.

I blend these approaches—Compassion, nervous system healing, and somatic awareness—to create a personalized, grounded, and nurturing path forward. Other evidence-based practices and tools are woven in as needed, always attuned to your unique needs.

Together, we walk at your pace—with genuine empathy, care, and respect for every part of your story.

Safety is not a mindset—it’s a felt experience.

True healing begins when the body feels safe. That’s why I support you in calming the body’s internal alarm system. Whether you’re stuck in fight, flight, or freeze, we work gently to interrupt these patterns and begin restoring balance.

This includes helping you recognize your nervous system cues, so you can respond with more awareness and choice—not just reactivity. When your body no longer feels like a battleground, you can begin to reconnect with who you are beneath the anxiety or overwhelm.

You can’t think your way into healing—but you can feel your way there.

Insight is helpful, but it’s not enough.

Through gentle somatic tools and grounding practices, I help you begin to listen inward—to notice the subtle signals of your body and emotions, to stay present rather than disconnect, and to feel safe in your own skin. With time, you build the capacity to sit with your emotions without being overtaken by them, opening the door to deeper healing and inner trust.
